When Robin Padilla bade Wowowee goodbye last Friday after pinch-hitting for two weeks for the “vacationing” principal host Willie Revillame, Mariel Rodriguez shed (crocodile?) tears as if her world was crumbling around her and put on a (phony?) drama as if she couldn’t bear to watch and to let Robin go.
Applause? Not just yet.
During his two-week stint, Robin was said to have swept Mariel off her feet, that was why, as Mariel confessed in a Funfare phone chat, she couldn’t look at Robin straight in the eye because, as she said co-host Pokwang had warned her, she might be hypnotized by Robin’s charm and fall under his spell. Pokwang herself openly flirted with Robin, letting him kiss her not just on her cheek but on her neck!
Applause, applause? Not just yet.
So Mariel wore a pair of glasses with the lenses covered with mug shots of a smiling Robin and everytime Robin put his arms around her or as much as cast her sticky glances, Mariel would melt like a scoop of ice-cream put under the sweltering summer sun.
Applause, applause, applause? Not just yet.
And then, the Big Farewell last Friday when Robin begged off from extending his pinchhit-hosting even if he enjoyed his two-week stint immensely and for which I gave him five stars.
Mariel has all the right to send Robin off with buckets of tears but you wonder: Willie Revillame (Pappy to Wowowee followers) was with her and Pokwang (and the rest of the Wowowee girls) for years but did Mariel and Pokwang ever express sadness over what happened to Willie to whom they owe a debt of gratitude in a way? Did they ever, in the past three weeks that Willie has been away from the show, say “Hi, Pappy! We miss you!” or even a subtle (maybe moral) support for the guy who served as shock-absorber when Wowowee was hit by “disasters” that threatened its very existence?
As he himself would admit, Willie is not a saint. He has his faults and moments of braggadocio (such as challenging management on-air to fire Jobert Sucaldito or else..., etc.) but he deserves a nod of appreciation especially from Mariel and Pokwang (and the rest of the Wowowee girls), doesn’t he?
As if to validate her “feelings” for Robin (fancy-free now that he and Liezl Sicangco are divorced), Mariel belatedly announced that she and Zanjoe Marudo (poor guy, pinalitan ni Mr. Lady Killer!) have already broken up after their Holy Week cruise.
Bro, ikaw ang star ng pasko event was kinda okay. There are star magic artists that were able to do more than 2productions but we do understand coz they should promote their talents first before they can show other talents but just wondering why Toni G who has ever been loyal to them since she transferred station ,who is an important talent of their company, who had given them a lot in every fields could it be, hosting,sitcoms,teleseryes,movies,etc was just given a one prod though we appreciate it because she was with sam and piolo, samtin and toniolo-the originals. Even if how they try or control Toni’s appearance in that special they can’t stop her though because when she came out in her prod people were cheering out her name because absolutely she looks so gorgeous and a real sexy sassy diva with that prod. She looks so pretty that night ,the body and the legs..they can’t deny that araneta heard the roar of cheers for toni. When Kuyas Angels did the spiels people were cheering Toni again,absolutely she isn’t only the sexy sassy diva,the gorgeous diva but absolutely she got the brains man! Superb in hosting,I really love her hosting skill, the best tv female host, indeed! And when the special came to a close on their final presentation one of the names I heard people were calling and shouting was TONI! My point is even if Toni isn’t a star magic artist but she is ever loyal to abscbn..We wouldn’t like her too to have another manager because her mom and her dad are keeping her modest and still in touch with her values. We don’t want her to get projects which are beyond her norms. We love the way she is, truly deserving of the ANAK TV SEAL. Overall, she is definitely THE TONI GONZAGA!
In ASAP Christmas Kringle , Group 2 should have won the contest that if they have another criteria for the contest. Absolutely, Toni G doesn’t only have multitalents and she doesn’t just looks good in the outside but definitely she has a beautiful mind and heart, indeed she has a beautiful soul for being able to think that kind of prod. They gave out the real meaning of Christmas.. They were great! They did it with a good taste. It was a drama about life but they still never forget to put a smile on people’s face with that prod. The Real Meaning Of What Christmas Is All About.
For ASAP, Toni Gonzaga’s supporters and avid fans were consistently and continuously requesting you even there are times that they came to a point begging you to give her a solo production in asap. If you can’t give her a permanent solo segment, we understand and we aren’t too greedy on that but atleast every now and then you can let her shine through in her singing and dancing prowess. Even if how you try to control her prods in asap and control her shining moments in asap because of her innate multitalents and good attitude towards her work/craft she will surely shines out. It has been more than 2months already and we haven’t seen her given that spot again. Yes you let her sing solo but not the way we want like her ROLL THE CREDITS,BAD GIRL,SOS,HATIN THE CLUB,PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME,BATTLEFIELD,HALO,I HATE THIS PART RIGHT HERE,ETC..NOTHING LIKE THAT…you have seen it..
If Toni isn’t good then you she will not get good ratings in her shows, will not be acknowledge by THE ICONS of the Philippine Entertainment, nor her concerts will not be sold out, nor she will not get recognitions,etc,etc,etc.. I mean we had seen request by others were granted but how come with Toni’s part we weren’t. If it is too much for you to give her , her own permanent solo segment, just bring back d-lite prods in which they are given their own spotlight every now and then. We know you wouldn’t like to give her own solo segment because we know the reason already but it is definitely okay with us but I hope you will cater to the idea that at least every now and then she will be given her own spotlight w/ exceptional performances. I’m happy that Nikki was given the spotlight when she played the piano that is a good start that you are giving your other talents their time to shine. One innate total performer became the best of what she has it is because she is given her time to develop or to enhance her skills by giving different solo productions, different styles of performances..as what they say PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. If you are giving time for others to do their own act on some all our performances then you will see that you got a lot of real great talents.
Toni is just so grounded that there are times she is taken for granted but even if how they try to take her for granted she shines through out because definitely she is ONE REAL TALENT. MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE, that is what she has that is hard to deny. Toni Gonzaga had proven a lot already yet, she is less given importance by abs. They were able to get great hits from Toni G could be in singing,concerts,commercials,movies,television shows and hosting stints. I hope they would give Toni utmost care and proper due recognition coz she truly deserves it. WE know Toni G doesn’t want or doesn’t like us praising her much or putting her on the pedestal but we simply can’t help it because she truly deserves our support. She is worth it. Congratulations to Ms. Toni G for her Precious Hearts Romances – Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin..It was supposed to be good only for a month but they had extended two weeks because of the ratings the show has. All her albums became gold and platinum. I don’t remember any album she had with star records who never got an award all of the album she released. Not to mention her “A Journey Home” an indie film that made Toni as one of the best actresses that we have as most reviews published. The Premiere night was a success despite the situation. ASAP Rocks! I love the show because they have a little bit of excitement in every show they have. Actually, the main reason why I tuned to ASAP it is because of this so wonderful lady Toni G. The first time I watched ASAP I love the stars because of their good looks and talents but Toni G sets apart from the rest because she has this different charisma and stage presence that I didn’t see from any other stars, this is just my own opinion, I don’t want to create fuss nor chaos on this..hehe…I would just like to express my utmost admiration to this lady who seems can do anything with excellence. What I like more about her is that she isn’t just spontaneous when she hosts or talks but she puts a different style in hosting that makes it more interesting. She entices the audience because of her innate beauty, charisma, multitalent, well natured and wit. She has a good breeding. She knows where she stands so she isn’t affected to whoever tries to pull her down and bash her. Indeed, she is simply great. Love her…I would love to see more of her in ASAP.. Next time, a solo production with all out performance.
